The school will be hosted by Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM) with the collaboration of the main European metrology institutions and the academic partners of EMPIR project (15SIB03 OC18) Optical clocks with 1E-18 uncertainty. The lectures will be held by leading experts from the partners in the project and by invited speakers from all over the world, covering the hottest topics in frequency metrology and atomic frequency standards.
This project will support the development of optical atomic clocks for the proposed redefinition of the second, and will find application in a broad range of scientific and commercial arenas, from advancing fundamental physics in the search for dark matter to improving the service from global navigation satellite systems.
