The International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90) consists of a number of fixed points defined by known melting/freezing points of certain chemical elements (and water), and is used to calibrate temperature measurement equipment. EMRP project Novel techniques for traceable temperature dissemination (SIB10 NOTED) will resolve discrepancies in the realisation of the fixed points, leading to a reduction in uncertainty.
SIB10 JRP-Partners will present the results of the JRP at International Conference 'Advances in Metrology' (AdMet 2013), the main objective of which is to provide a platform for metrologists, technocrats and researchers to present their research and development work and foster collaborations with fellow scientists. The emphasis of AdMet 2013 will be on advances in quantum metrology with particular emphasis on time & frequency standards, electrical variables like voltage, resistance and current, development of quantum candela, precision measurements of nanoscale forces, dimensions, magnetic moments and photon flux.
