EMRP project Metrology for pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed in the atmosphere (ENV07 MeteoMet) took part in the 1st annual EarthTemp Network meeting in Edinburgh, UK. EarthTemp is a network to stimulate new international collaboration in measuring and understanding the surface temperatures of Earth. This will involve creating networks between experts specialising in different types of measurement of surface temperature.
The aim of project ENV07 is to improve climate models by improving measurements of pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed. This will support metrological and meteorological research and will enable a better interpretation of climate data as measurements of pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed are key to understanding the climate of the Earth. During the EarthTemp Network meeting, ENV07 JRP-Partners took the opportunity to draft ideas for future collaborations in the frame of traceability for earth temperature measurements and also in the view of possible new opportunities.
