The 17th edition of Euroanalysis, the European Conference on Analytical Chemistry, will be held in Warsaw, 25-29 August 2013. It is jointly organised by the Polish Chemical Society, the Committee on Analytical Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences and the local organisers, Warsaw University of Technology and University of Warsaw. At the conference, the results from a variety of EMRP projects will be presented, including:
- Primary standards for challenging elements (SIB09 Elements) will develop methods to realise standards for challenging elements frequently used in chemical analysis, e.g. magnesium, zinc and molybdenum, and it will produce standards for these in the process.
- Metrology for ocean salinity and acidity (ENV05 OCEAN) will link measurements of salinity to measurements of density, which can be traced back to SI units, thereby improving confidence in salinity measurements.
- Traceable measurements for monitoring critical pollutants under the European Water Framework Directive (WFD-2000/60/EC) (ENV08 WFD) will support the Directive by developing reliable reference standards, as close as possible to real-world water samples.
