European Frequency and Time Forum

The 26th European Frequency and Time Forum (EFTF) meeting was held in Gothenburg, Sweden in April 2012 with conference topics including: Materials, Resonators and Resonator Circuits; Oscillators, Synthesizers, Noise, and Circuit Techniques; Microwave Frequency Standards; Sensors and Transducers; Timekeeping, Time and Frequency Transfer, GNSS Applications; and Optical Frequency Standards and Applications.

The EMRP project New generation of frequency standards for industry (IND14) was presented at EFTF. The IND14 project aims to develop new standards to improve the stability of the high frequency atomic clocks used to provide satellite navigation systems and fast internet access. This should result in clocks becoming more stable, robust and portable, improve synchronisation between them, and enable higher speed data transfer.
