Webinar marking the 2023 World Metrology Day
Online event on Monday, 15 May 2023 - 14:00 - 16:00 CEST
World Metrology Day, organised by BIPM and OIML, marks the anniversary of the signing of the Metre Convention on 20th May 1875. This year’s theme ‘Measurements supporting the global food system’ highlights the increasing challenges of climate change and the need for global distribution of food.
To mark the day, INRiM, Italy’s National Metrology Institute, hosts a webinar with a focus on the European Metrology Network for Safe and Sustainable Food, covering topics on this year’s theme.
EURAMET’s EMN Food exists to foster collaboration and coordination across the metrology community to support the provision of safe, high-quality food and protection of the environment.
The event’s programme includes nine talks on topics including mycotoxins, food allergens, food contaminants and more, presented by experts from across Europe.
Talks cover:
- Initiatives for coordinating metrology in Europe in the agrifood sector and to support food safety and sustainability;
- Ongoing activities towards the development and validation of analytical methods for the characterization of specific food matrices;
- Focus on method development for quantification of relevant food contaminants.
The webinar will be held on 15 May 2023 at 2:00 pm CEST at the following link: https://meet.google.com/ixc-esqo-yfg
