VSL and CEESI have announced that the 2nd edition of the Metrology for LNG workshop and the 5th edition European Flow Measurement Workshop will be held together from 4 to 7 April 2017, to enable attendees to combine the two workshops. The two workshops will be held in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Theme of the joint program is ‘Setting the Standard’. The hosts have also announced that a visit to the brand new LNG facility will be part of the program.
Project Manager Joost Groen (VSL) explains: “We know many attendees of the European Flow Measurement Workshop are interested in the latest developments of LNG Metrology, and the other way around. Instead of copying parts of each other’s programs and requiring people to come to the Netherlands twice, we thought it would be way easier to join forces. The two workshops have their own full program, the Wednesday being a joint session, making it easy to join both for those interested.”
The workshop is being funded through EMRP project Metrological support for LNG custody transfer and transport fuel applications (ENG60 LNG II). This project aims to improve and develop the metrology for LNG custody transfer measurements leading to smaller measurement uncertainties, reduction of financial risks of transactions and more transparency in the trade of LNG.
Setting the Standard
In a rapidly changing world some values remain unaltered. New equipment and new tools, e.g. diagnostics, but also new fuels and new ideas or approaches can only be introduced into daily industry life after their accurate measurement and traceability to the highest standards have been properly taken care of. To do this, a collaboration of all parties involved is crucial. Together we are fueling the future.
