The World Meteorological Organisation Technical Conference on Meteorological and Environmental Instruments and Methods of Observation 2012 (TECO-2012) was held from 16-18 October in Brussels. At the event an overview of EMRP project Metrology for pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed in the atmosphere (ENV07 MeteoMet) was presented, as well as two oral presentations on the results of ENV07; one on the ‘Metrological traceability for meteorological sensors’ and one on ‘Traceability of ground-based meteorological surface temperature measurements’.
The aim of project ENV07 is to improve climate models by improving measurements of pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed. This will support metrological and meteorological research and will enable a better interpretation of climate data as measurements of pressure, temperature, humidity and airspeed are key to understanding the climate of the Earth.
