EMRP project: ‘Metrology for Biofuels’ (ENG09 Biofuels), will provide validated, reliable and traceable methods to measure the physical and chemical properties of biofuels, particularly those used in the automotive and aviation sectors. These measurement methods will help ensure the sustainable contribution of biofuels to the EU energy supply and improve public confidence in them.
The workshop will be hosted by LNE, the JRP-Coordinator for ENG09, and its aim is to bring together all those working on biofuels characterisation in order to give scientists from NMIs, Universities and Industry a forum for the informal exchange of ideas and to identify needs and future collaborations. The topics for the workshop include: 1) an overview of the needs in the field of biofuels characterisation (standardisation, legal metrology etc) and the European regulatory perspectives, and 2) the results obtained as part of ENG09 (2010-2013).
