18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 30 May and 1 June 2022, 09:00 – 12:00 CEST on all dates
This training course on magnetism, magnetic materials and measurements is organised within the PhD course in Metrology of INRIM-POLITO.
The course will provide the basis to understand the metrological aspects of magnetism, the physics of modern magnetic materials, and the associated measurement techniques.
It will give an introduction to the following key topics
- basic concepts in magnetism
- quantum origin of ferromagnetism
- theories of magnetisation process
- materials for technological applications
- experimental techniques
The course will be held in English language online via the platform provided by the Politecnico di Torino (virtual classroom). At the end of the course, it will be possible to participate in a lab visit at Italy’s National Metrology Institute, INRIM.
