Dariusz Czułek is new chair of EURAMET’s TC for Length
Dariusz Czułek (GUM, Poland) started his first term as chair of the Technical Committee for Length (TC-L) at EURAMET’s 2025 General Assembly. As the new chair, his primary goals are to continue to promote effective collaboration and transparency by “setting clear joint goals,” as he states.
While updating the dimensional metrology roadmaps, Dariusz aims to strengthen stakeholder engagement by promoting TC-L activities and sharing research results to address the challenges of dimensional measurement. Through active cooperation with EURAMET’s European Metrology Networks, he also seeks to promote European metrology as a whole.
With more than 20 years of experience as a metrologist, Dariusz brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He has been involved in calibrating nearly all types of length-measuring instruments throughout his career and is currently responsible for a measurement system that realises the unit of length.
He graduated with a degree in physics from Łódź University of Technology in 2001 and began his career at GUM, Poland’s National Metrology Institute, shortly thereafter. In 2018, he became the contact person for TC Length as well as for the Consultative Committee for Length (CCL).
Dariusz also serves as a technical and management systems auditor at the Polish Centre for Accreditation, and the primary contact for the European Metrology Network for Advanced Manufacturing.
“My involvement in research projects within the European Metrology Research Partnerships, along with my experience in coordinating international comparisons, will help me find solutions to the challenges that may arise”, he adds. Of course, Dariusz emphasises that achieving these goals will only be possible with the support of the TC-L community. “They have helped me solve problems on more than one occasion. I hope I can continue to rely on their assistance, which will be essential for the TC’s development”, he concludes.
EURAMET wishes Dariusz every success in his new role and extends its sincere thanks to his predecessor, Sten Bergstrand (RISE, Sweden), who held the position from 2021 to 2025.
