Experimental study of blockage effect in wind tunnels for calibrations of anemometers

Project Description

Several large size vane anemometers and cup anemometers will be circulated around the participants. The meters will be calibrated in wind tunnels of various sizes and the effect of wind tunnel size will be analysed by comparing the calibration curves.

Final Report 2022-06-13

The project has been completed and the report can be downloaded here>>.

The final report from this Pilot study was finished. Valuable results on influence of wind tunnel – anemometer interactions to calibrations of anemometers have been achieved. EURAMET cooperation was crucial to include so many participants into the project.

Progress Report 2022-02-22

Report Draft A from this Pilot study was finished and discussed by participants. Draft B will be finished soon. Valuable results on influence of a wind tunnel – anemometer interactions to calibrations of anemometers have been achieved. EURAMET cooperation was crucial to include so many participants into the project.

Progress Report 2019-04-11

Originally planned measurements are finished. Additional measurements based on findings obtained so far were planned for May 2019. Data analysis and completion of a report is planned till the end of the year 2019. Cooperation between Euramet partners is crucial in this project since the project requires measurements in a wide range of wind tunnel types and sizes.
