On-site peer review of GEOSTM
Project Description
The rules of CIPM MRA obligate the NMIs to operate a QMS in conformity with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 (if applicable), to support their calibration activities. This project of audits of QMSs is intended to support the development and improvement processes of GEOSTM and provide a tool for a better international recognition, establishing and enhancing confidence in their fulfillment of the requirements of CIPM MRA.
A peer review programme is to be carried out annually.
Progress Report 2024-04-12
In March 2024 an on-site peer visit was carried out to GEOSTM by a team composed by technical experts from CEM, ENEA-INMRI and INRiM in the following fields: Pressure, Length, Ionising Radiation.
This on-site peer visit focused on the measurement fields that had not been covered within the previous onsite peer visit carried out in July 2023, thus assuring to complete the check of all the GEOSTM CMCs published in the BIPM KCDB.
The peer review run smoothly in a very open and constructive atmosphere, allowing to share experiences.
During the audits the CMCs published in the KCDB for the relevant quantities were checked.
A final peer visit report was prepared by following the EURAMET Template of the final peer review record G-TCQ-TMP-002 (Version 2.0). A proper corrective action plan was provided by GEOSTM and approved by the review team.
Good technical competence of the personnel was observed, good organisation and execution of the works was witnessed. The general opinion of the team members was that GEOSTM has an adequate QMS and its implementation demonstrates conformity with the requirements of the CIPM-MRA.
Progress Report 2023-09-18
EURAMET Project 1582 is ongoing within the framework of the EU Funded Twinning Project “Strengthening of institutional as well as human capacities of Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM) according to the international/EU best practices”.
In July 2023 an on-site peer visit was carried out to GEOSTM by a team composed by technical experts from INRiM and CEM in the following fields: Mass and related quantities, Electricity and Magnetism, Thermometry and Humidity. The Quality Management System (QMS) was also covered.
The peer review run smoothly in a very open and constructive atmosphere, allowing to share experiences. During the audits almost all the CMCs published in the KCDB (60 entries out of 65 CMCs) for the relevant quantities were checked. A final peer visit report was prepared by following the EURAMET template of the final peer review record G-TCQ-TMP-002 (Version 2.0). A proper corrective action plan was provided by GEOSTM and approved by the review team.
