Pilot study of air kerma and tube voltage (kVp) for new radiation qualities in x-ray imaging using XMMs

In this project eleven participating laboratories will perform a comparison in terms of air kerma and tube voltage for standards used in x-ray imaging measurements with x-ray multimeters (XMMs) as transfer instruments. Also results for additional quantities will be recorded to pilot their potential for future comparisons. The comparison is performed as a part of EURAMET 22NMR01 TraMeXI project project.

Four RQR, two RQT, and three newly defined CCPRQ radiation qualities will be used in the comparison and four transfer instruments (X-ray multimeters) will be circulated among the participating laboratories. PTB provides the reference value for the comparison.

The pilot study is performed as a part of the EURAMET 22NMR01 TraMeXI project. In this study the responsibilities of a pilot laboratory are shared between STUK (Finland) and VSL (The Netherlands). STUK (as the TraMeXI project coordinator) is the reporting pilot laboratory and responsible for collection of the results and reporting to the EURAMET. VSL (as the TraMeXI leader of the comparison) is the coordinating pilot laboratory and responsible for the organisation of the comparison.
