Bilateral comparison of the freezing point of zinc between BEV and SMU

Project Description

The bilateral comparison will test the measurement capabilities of SMU and BEV within the freezing point of zinc (Zn) by means of a transfer standard. This transfer standard will consist of one at least one SPRT of each participant that will be calibrated in freezing point of Zinc. Initial calibration of both SPRTs will be performed at BEVs facilities, thereafter at the facilities of SMU. The results will be handled by the coordinator at SMU and the result will establish the linkage between the two zinc cells used at respected institutes.

The funding for the purpose of this comparison will be handled by each institute individually. This includes specifically transport, accommodation and travel subsistence.

Progress Report 2024-04-11

The bilateral comparison of the freezing point of zinc (Zn) by means of a transfer standard between SMU and BEV has been completed from the side of measurement realisation and data evaluation. The preliminary results show an agreement between the two partners well within declared uncertainties. At the moment, the final checks of the final bilateral comparison report are being done, with an expected project completion by the end of April 2024.
