Correlations between air humidity and anormal dispersion of refractive index of air

Project Description

Air humidity measurement by conventional methods (chilled miror dew-point) are perturbative in the case of mass comparisons (small volume of comparison chamber). The results of the studies on the correlations between the variations of air density and that of refractive index of air (at BNM-INM; SP) are of great interest in mass measurements. We think that near infrared laser refractometry based on beat frequency measurement can be an interesting tool to link air humidity amount to the anormal dispersion of refractive index.
