Development of miniaturized optical flowmeters
Project Description
Development of a new generation of minituarized optical flowmeters and optical devices using low and high power semiconductor diode lasers and photdiodes. Basic research regarding the application of high power semiconductor diode lasers to fluid flow measurements and flow diagnostic instrumentation, e.g. flow profile analysis. Development of a portable transfer standard for velocimetry and flowrate. Miniaturization of laser-Doppler equipment, laser diode array velocimetry, high-frequency pulsed diode velocimetry for the application to flow rate measurements [air and natural gases], flow diagnostics and high speed measurements in wind tunnels and industrial application for flow monitoring.
