Dose rate effects in chemical dosimeters

Project Description

To utilise the high dose-rates available on the scanned beam of the Riso linear accelarator to investigate possible doserate effects in a number of chemical dosimeters. Dosimeters to be considered initially are: low range dichromate (2-10kGy), high range dichromate (5-45 kGy), alanine, ethanol chlorobenzene and radiochromic dye films. Relative dosimetry will be carried out using the Riso graphite calorimeter to monitor dose. The lowest dose-rate will enable the dichromate dosimeter to overlap with traceable dosimetry provided on the NPL LINAC.
