EURAMET Technical Guide on GNSS distance metrology

Project Description

The proposed technical guide, which brings GNSS-based distance measurements (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) under the umbrella of GUM-conformal measurement uncertainty treatment, is a product of the EMPIR GeoMetre project (Large-scale dimensional measurements for geodesy,18SIB01). Following a preliminary approval by TC-L, the remaining work towards publication of a GNSS related guide was considered sufficiently interesting to become registered as a length related project in the EURAMET database.

To validate the technical guide prior to publication, it will be peer-reviewed by two EURAMET experts that were selected by TC-L and not involved in 18SIB01.
These experts – from JV (Norway) and RISE (Sweden) – are not listed as participants in the current project.

The concepts were presented at key surveying conferences. The submission of the draft to the EURAMET review is foreseen within the next months.
