Finalisation of the draft Calibration Guideline on the Calibration of Automatic Catchweighing Instruments

The EMPIR project 14RPT02 AWICal has delivered the "Guideline on the Calibration of Automatic Catchweighing Instruments". When EURAMET TC-M discussed the guideline, some points for improvement, mostly related to the evaluation of the variation of indication of the calibrated instrument, were identified. The aim of the project is to harmonise the procedure for evaluation of the variation of indication, resolve other minor open items and finalise the guideline that it will be ready to be submitted to EURAMET TC-M for the approval.

The EMPIR project 14RPT02 AWICal has delivered the "Guidelines on the Calibration of Automatic Catchweighing Instruments". When EURAMET TC-M discussed an approval of the guideline in 2019, some points for improvement, mostly related to the evaluation of the variation of indication of the calibrated instrument, were identified.

The project partners succeeded to harmonise the procedure for evaluation of the variation of indication, resolved other minor open items and finalised the guideline. The guideline has been approved by EURAMET TC-M in September 2022, and by EURAMET BoD in February 2023. After formatting and layout arrangement with help of EURAMET Secretariat, the EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 26 “Guidelines on the Calibration of Automatic Weighing Instruments”, Version 1.0 (02/2023), were published on the EURAMET webpage in July 2023.
