Intercomparison of Chromatic Dispersion Reference Fibres
Project Description
The aim of this project is to perform an intercomparison of chromatic dispersion measurements which will be carried out on the most commonly used types of reference fibres (standard, dispersion shifted, non zero dispersion shifted and dispersion compensating). These measurements will be valuable in order to investigate the measurement accuracy which is achievable under the very different measurement conditions and date processing that are required for each type of fibre. The measurements will be done by using one of the recognized measurement techniques (phase shift, spectral goup delay in the time domain, differential phase shift or interferometry). The chromatic dispersion will be measured in both the

The results of this intercomparison will serve as a basis for the CMC entries on chromatic dispersion.
