Intercomparison of Low Frequency Magnetic Flux Density by means of Transfer Standards
Project Description
Within this project it is planned to compare the capabilities of the partners to measure magnetic flux densities in the frequency range from DC to
The intercomparison is carried out by supplying two coil systems which first are measured by the coordinator resulting in reference data Then both coil systems are circulated between the partners as transfer standards. The partners energise the coil systems at prescribed frequencies using mainly their own equipment and measure the flux density at the centre of the coils using their own equipment and standards too. At the end of the intercomparison, for both coils a final check is carried out by the coordinator to ensure that the coil systems have not changed. The coil systems planned to be used consist of a Garrett coil and a Helmholtz coil.
Final Report 2005-06-07
The comparison has been competed and the results are available in the KCDB
The Draft B report including the link to the corresponding CCEM KC is available. The comparison is registered as a RMO Key Comparison – EUROMET.EM.M-K1 – in the KCDB and has been approved by the WGLF and the CCEM.
