Intercomparison of total hemispherical and normal spectral emissivity measurements

Project Description

BNM-LNE as French reference laboratory for emissivity measurements will coordinate the intercomparison between BNM-LNE and PTB (Braunschweig).
Two or three kinds of materials will be used for each parameter (total and spectral emissivity) ; one with high emissivity and one with low emissivity.

Measurement conditions :

  • Total hemispherical emissivity : - temperature 20 °C to 200 °C in vacuum
  • Normal spectral emissivity : - temperature 150 °C to 550 °C in air ; - wavelength 2.5 µm to 13 µm

The measurements will be performed pn the same samples by all participants.
Measurements will be performed, with the same conditions, at the begining and at the end of the intercomparison in one of the participating laboratories to quantify the drift of emissivity during the intercomparison
