Mathematical models for linearizing the scales of balances

Project Description

The project will provide studies on the way to evaluate a mathematical algorithm for computing a correction factor to be applied to the balance readings for the correction of non-linearity. Different techniques like least squares, weighted least squares and total least squares will be checked with data of different balances.

Additional effects that can affect the balances standard deviation will be taken into account. At present existing procedures and computing methods will be exchanged. Partners will compare their results in a meeting to be held in occasion of the next Euromet contact person meeting.

 

Further Information

In future this Projects will co-ordinate its meetings with other Projects concerning balances, to allow partners to attend the other meetings for information.
