Measurement of short gauge blocks by interferometry
Project Description
Comparison suggested and organised by CEM (ES), as continuation of comparison EURAMET.L-K1.2011, for CEM to recover its original smaller CMC, after having increased it temporarily as corrective action, due to some inconsistent results obtained in EURAMET.L-K1.2011 (EURAMET Project 1218). The comparison is just starting after agreement with participants, most of them also involved in the previous comparison.
Final Report 2022-01-12
The comparison has been completed and results are available in the KCDB.
Progress Report 2020-10-21
The comparison started in November 2019 instead of in October 2019 as was scheduled. After CEM measurements, PTB observed some scratches on some gauges. Because being at the beginning of the KC it was decided to repair these gauges for an easier wringing for all participants. As a consequence, CEM reeated their measuremente after PTB did. RISE communicated the withdraw of their participation. GBs were measured by SMD and METAS since December 2019 to February 2020 and INRIM delayed participation from June 2020 to September 2020 due to technical problems. CEM took this opportunity to measure once more in June 2020. There was a new delay at INRIM by problems with the green laser. Until now, results from PTB, SMD and METAS have been received. Recently INRIM communicated the repair of the laser, being now ready to continue with the measurements. Just before this and after the TC-L meeting in October 2020, where the status of the comparison was presented, CMI contacted CEM asking for participating. Because the comparison was still alive and the results received until now are blind, their participation was accepted. On this way, CMI will measure after INRIM do. The conclusion of the comparison is expected by December 2020 or January 2021.
Progress Report 2020-10-15
An updated registration now includes a new participant, CMI (CZ), as agreed after our last TC-L meeting in October 2020, due the comparison suffered some delays and it is still alive.
