On-site peer review of DSA (Norway)
Project Description
Peer review of CIPM MRA activities of DSA (formerly NRPA). The peer review will include the relevant requirements for the competence stated in the standard of ISO/IEC 17025 and the ionising radiation services included in the CMC tables of DSA. Peer reviewers are Hans Arne Frøystein JV (peer leader) and Jan-Erik Grindborg (technical expert) from SSM (Sweden). The peer review visit will be carried out in November 2014.
Final Report 2020-03-27
The dosimetry laboratory at Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA) is a designated institute for the diagnostic quantities in Norway. In this project the QMS of the dosimetry laboratory at DSA were peer reviewed. The review included the relevant requirements for the competence stated in the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the ionising radiation service included in the CMC tables of DSA. The peer reviewers were Henning Kolbjørnsen (lead assessor) from Justervesenet (JV, Norway) and Reetta Nylund (radiation metrology expert, technical assessor) from STUK (Finland). Jussi Huikari from STUK participated as an observer (radiation metrology expert). The peer review was held on November 20, 2019.
In the peer review three non-conformities and four recommendations were recorded. The solving of the non-conformities and recommendations is ongoing and part of the normal handling of non-conformities in the QMS.
This project supported the adequacy of the laboratories quality system and its implementation to demonstrate the conformity with the requirements of CIPM-MRA as well as implementation of the new version of the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Progress Report 2015-01-28
DSA (formerly NRPA) maintains national metrological standards of ionising radiation in Norway as a designated institute. The SSDL of DSL has published 22 CMCs under the MRA. The peer review took place on 27th November 2015 and was based on review of documents, interview of staff, laboratory visits and demonstration of calibrations. The peer review covered all requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and the ionizing radiation services included in the CMC tables. The assessment followed the recommendations of CIPM paragraph 4.2. The peer review experts were Hans Arne Frøystein (peer leader), JV (Norway) and Jan-Erik Grindborg (technical assessor), SSM (Sweden). The report was completed 16th December 2014.
