Peer review of NSAI NML's Acoustics Laboratory
Project Description
All the NMIs and DIs participating in the CIPM MRA must operate a Quality Management System (QMS) to support their calibration activities. In this project the QMS of NSAI National Metrology Laboratory (IE) will be peer reviewed, particularly in that the QMS of NML is a self-declared system. The peer review will be carried out by an on-site visit of a metrological expert in acoustics coming from the Turkish National Metrology Institute (UME). The review will include relevant requirements for the competence stated in the ISO/IEC 17025 standard and the acoustics services covered by CMCs of the institute published on the BIPM KCDB. This project will support the development, improvement and evaluation of QMS processes and procedures.
Peer visit to take place over 10 April 2017.

The peer review has been carried out on 10th of April 2017. Peer review has been explicitly focused on the implementation of technical requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard with respect to CMCs of the NSAI NML in acoustics field published on the BIPM KCDB. Checking an implementation of management requirements of the standard was out of the peer review scope.
Nine findings have been identified and registered during the peer review. Four findings have a nature of recommendations for future improvement, while other five are taken into account with appropriate corrective actions. It is expected that all corrective actions will be completed by the end of June 2018.
The comprehensive report for the peer review is prepared and is available from the project coordinator on request
