Peer review of NSAI NML's Temperature/Humidity Laboratory
Project Description
All the NMIs and DIs participating in the CIPM MRA must operate a Quality Management System (QMS) to support their calibration activities. In this project the QMS of NSAI National Metrology Laboratory (IE) will be peer reviewed. The peer review will be carried out by an on-site visit of a metrological expert(s) in Temperature & Humidity coming from the Finnish Metrology Institute (MIKES). The review will include relevant requirements for the competence stated in the standard of ISO/IEC 17025 and the temperature & Humidity services included in the CMC tables of the institute and/or under Inter RMO review at the moment. This project will support the development, improvement and evaluation of QMS processes and procedures.
Peer Visit to take place over 21 and 22 October 2014.
Final Report 2019-12-11
Under the requirements of the CIPM MRA NMIs are obliged to undergo Audits by Peers in their measurement fields. These audits are reviewed by EURAMET TC-Q. This audit was of NML's Humidity Laboratory with the following scope:
- dew-point temperature -20 °C to +70 °C
- relative humidity 5 %rh to 95 %rh; +15 °C to +70 °C
Martti Heinonen from the Finish Metrology Institute (MIKES) carried out a peer review of the NSAI National Metrology Laboratory (IE) on the 21 and 22 of October 2014. The resulting report is logged on the NSAI quality management system with the number AUD-EXTERNAL63 The peer review resulted in two minor non conformances and three recommendations, all of which were addressed and closed out on the quality management system.
Once all the observations and non-conformances had been addressed, the resultant actions were reported to the peer reviewer, who stated he was satisfied with the corrective actions.
