Preparation of a EURAMET guideline for the assessment of calibration laboratories using GPS signals for frequency and time traceability
Project Description
In 2003, the DC-LF expert group of the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA WG DC-LF) prepared a draft guideline for the assessment of calibration laboratories using GPS signals for frequency and time traceability. Before the final adoption of the document, EA decided to stop the publication of technical guidelines. The document has been transferred to the EUROMET TC T&F for completion and eventually for publication under the responsibility of EUROMET.
This project aims at reviewing the existing draft, making the necessary amendments and publishing the document as a EURAMET Calibration Guide.
Final Report
The existing early draft of the guide, which was prepared several years ago for EA, was extensively re-written and expanded, with new content added including detailed examp[les of uncertainty budgets. Revised drafts were circulated to the TC-TF delegates for review on several occasions. The completed document was published in March 2016 as EURAMET Technical Guide No.3, with the title "Guidelines on the Use of GOS Disciplined Oscillators for Frequency or Time Traceability". It is available for download from the EURAMET website at: www.euramet.org/publications-media-centre/technical-guides/
