Traceability in force measurement at national laboratory level in range up to 2 MN

Project Description

PTB deadweight force standard machines in the range up to 2 MN ensure the realization of forces with relative uncertainty <= 2 x 10^-5. By applying the procedure of force intercomparison the best measurement capability can be evaluated for the force standard machines of larger uncertainty. A periodical investigation of the uncertainty of force standard machines may be essential if the forces are realised by means of hydraulic or lever amplification or with calibrated reference force transducers PTB will provide consultation and the transfer standards for the intercomparison.

The project was announced in 1993 and was in the list as a project proposal for interested partners to join.
Since there were no partners over almost 30 years, the project is now concluded without any results
